Pastor ScottSENIOR PASTOR: Scott Jones
Scott is married to Dale and has four children, Kynan, Rennick, Tiahna and Xanthe.
Scott began life in the Top End of Australia, Darwin General Hospital to be exact. His parents were living and working in the small mining town of Moline, near Pine Ck. After leaving the Territory when he was seven, Scott completed his schooling years in Brisbane and began his working life there as an office clerk with RM Gow & Co. After a couple more changes in is working career, from Truck sales to Jewellery sales, Scott met Dale and they married a couple of years later in 1991.
Shortly after their marriage while Scott was studying at Bible college in preparation for Mission work, God put a clear call upon Scott’s heart to enter Pastoral ministry instead.
After completing his studies in 1997, Scott was called by Clontarf Baptist as Youth Pastor. Then in a step of faith Scott and Dale packed up the family and travelled from Brisbane to Katherine, in the NT to take up a new role as a solo Pastor with Katherine Baptist church. After five years in Katherine and again believing God was calling them to another extreme move, they moved in 2008 to Devonport Baptist, in Tasmania, where Scott is now serving as senior Pastor.

After graduating, he initially moved to Darwin before moving to Katherine to work for the Health Department there.

At the end of 2007, Chris moved back to Brisbane to pursue theological studies to enter vocational ministry. He completed courses at Griffith University and Malyon College and served as a student pastor / intern at Cleveland Baptist Church for two years, before becoming a pastor there at the end of 2009. At the end of 2011, Chris and Amy believed the Lord was calling them to Devonport Baptist Church where Chris now serves as an Associate Pastor (Youth).

Chris enjoys sports, reading, playing and listening to music, outdoor activities and good quality Indian food! He’s also passionate about seeing people come to know how awesome it is to know and follow Jesus!!
